Identifying Animals

Differentiated Instruction was implemented by creating various “Centers” to reinforce the Essential Learning level (ELL) to the students of Ankur. Centers are ‘skill based’ stations, providing opportunity for the children to choose and showcase their learning according to the skill of their choice. Five learning centers were set up based on students interest: one for animal models, another for colouring, one for puzzles, one for molding with play doughs and the fifth one for worksheet based activities.

CENTER 1
Models of animals were kept for the children to sort out between wild and farm animals.

CENTER 2
Children were required to colour wild and farm animals.

CENTER 3
Children solved jigsaw puzzles related to animals.

CENTER 4
Children created animals of their choice using play dough.

CENTER 5
Children attempted different skill-based worksheets based on different aspects of the theme ‘Animals’ .
